Dr. Akanbi is a distinguished gastroenterologist whose career reflects a blend of academic excellence, clinical expertise, and compassionate patient care. He received his medical education from the prestigious University of Ibadan College of Medicine in Nigeria, the nation’s premier medical university. Driven by a passion for improving population health, he went on to earn a Master of Public Health from the renowned Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, USA. Dr. Akanbi completed his Internal Medicine residency at Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago and pursued advanced fellowship training in Gastroenterology at the University of Missouri–Columbia, where he served as Chief Fellow.
