
Pradeep Khatiwada, MD
Dr. Pradeep Khatiwada is an ECFMG-certified medical graduate dedicated to improving healthcare access in underserved regions of Nepal. With a deep commitment to public health, he has successfully facilitated the WHO Package of Essential Non-Communicable Diseases (PEN) training for primary healthcare providers across nine districts in Koshi Province. He has also been instrumental in delivering the WHO Mental Health Gap Action Program (mhGAP) training in Dhankuta District, focusing on reducing stigma, preventing suicide, and enhancing community-based mental health care. Dr. Khatiwada’s leadership extends beyond clinical training. He spearheaded the establishment of a five-bed Geriatric Ward at Dhankuta District Hospital and continues to engage in community health and awareness initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of rural populations.
His professional interests focus on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and mental health, with a passion for screening, early diagnosis, and preventive care. Through his dual roles as a STEM Editor and a regular contributor to the Infographics Section at AJPHI, Dr. Khatiwada combines clinical insight with creative communication to promote evidence-based health education and empower healthcare providers in resource-limited settings.
