Dr. Pradeep Khatiwada is an ECFMG-certified medical graduate serving underprivileged parts of Nepal. With a deep commitment to improving healthcare in rural areas, he has successfully facilitated the WHO Package of Essential Non-Communicable Diseases (PEN) training to primary health service providers across nine districts in Koshi Province. Additionally, Dr. Khatiwada has been instrumental in delivering the WHO Mental Health Gap Action Programme (mhGAP) training to health workers in Dhankuta District, focusing on reducing stigma and preventing suicide. His leadership extends to initiating a 5-bed Geriatric Ward at Dhankuta District Hospital and actively participating in community-level programs.

Dr. Khatiwada’s professional interests are strongly centered around Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and mental health. He is passionate about the power of screening, early diagnosis, and timely management of NCDs, and he actively promotes mental health awareness in underserved communities. Through his roles as a trainer and facilitator, Dr. Khatiwada aims to empower healthcare providers with the necessary skills and knowledge to tackle these critical health issues, ultimately striving to uplift and improve the lives of the underprivileged in Nepal.
